IEEE Student Branch of the University of Patras

The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is a nonprofit, technology, professional organization, founded in the U.S. in 1884 by a team of engineers, to promote the theory and applications of science in Computer Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

The local branches of IEEE (IEEE Student Branches) are a subdivision of the IEEE and currently lists nearly 1,150 worldwide. Their responsibilities include familiarizing and informing students about the IEEE and its activities. In addition, owners can organize seminars, workshops, visits etc. and are responsible for orienting new members. Provide undergraduate and graduate students who are in technical universities and technological opportunities for academic, technical and professional development.

The IEEESB Patras was founded on January 16, 2003 and approved by the IEEE in April of that year with code 5001.
